The last 4 months have brought about alot of changes in our family's life. We have seen first hand what a blessing Hospice is to patients and families in the last days of a persons life. I had a very dear sister in law diagnosed with cancer on Mothers Day 2009. We did not know the primary and even though their best guess was ovarian they never were quite sure. We watched her fight a battle with as much faith as I have ever witnessed. We prayed together often and she, as I, knew that God is the same today, yesterday and forever. We knew that if it were in His perfect will that He would heal her body here on this earth. If not then He would take her to Him and she would be healed that way as well. Either way she was a conqueror. During that time I was drawn to Psalm 71: 20- 22 "You caused me to experience may troubles and misfortunes; but You will revive me again, You wil bring me up again, even from the depths of the earth. You will increase my honor, and comfort me once again. Therefore with a lute I will praise You, for Your faithfullness my God. I will sing to You with a Harp, Holy One of Isreal."
I shared this with my sister in law just days before we said goodbye on Nov 2, 2009. We talked, laughed and prayed together. She was looking forward to being with the love of her life, Jesus Christ. She was looking forward to not having pain. She was excited to see her parents again. At 3:45am she woke up, told us all she loved us and drifted off back to sleep. At 5:15 she woke up to tell Jesus she loved Him. She woke up and saw the face of her Savior. She woke up to reunite with loved ones she longed to see. She woke up to know no more pain. She woke up to realize that all the faith that she had without being able to see with human eyes, now had substance that she could touch. Substance she could see. Substance that once was just a feeling now was as real as the wind against your face on an early spring morning.
If you don't know the realness of this love of this Savior. If you have not accepted Him as your Lord. You can do this. John 3:16 said "For God loved this world (you) so much that He sent His Son to die for (you). That whoever would believe in Him would have eternal life." I did not say this God did. God goes on to say that He did send His Son to condemn the world but that the world through Him could be saved. Later He said "Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" There is nothing that you can do, you can not be "good enough" you have to rely on the shed blood of Jesus Christ for salvation.
